DR. PETER VADAS
Dr. Peter Vadas, MD, PhD, FRCPC, is a prominent Canadian academic allergist and clinical immunologist. He is recognized as a leading expert in severe anaphylaxis and mast cell disorders
Professional Roles (Current & Past)
Head of Division: Director of the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, a position he has held since 2000.
Academic Appointments: Faculty member at the University of Toronto.
Scientific Research: Senior scientist at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute and the Hospital for Sick Children Research Institute.
Clinical Specialty: Spearheads the Regional Anaphylaxis Clinic and the Mast Cell Disorders Clinic, the latter of which is recognized as a centre of excellence.

Anaphylaxis: Identifying biochemical markers (such as platelet-activating factor) for severe reactions.
Mast Cell Disorders: Investigation and management of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and Systemic Mastocytosis.
Allergies: Specialized treatment for allergies to foods (specifically peanuts), drugs, and stinging insects.
Publications: He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications in prestigious journals such as Nature, JAMA, and the New England Journal of Medicine.
